Throwing Prep Series

Dugout Master ✓ Official Dugout Master drill

Players progress through arm circles, wrist work, easy throws, and increasing throwing distances before practice begins.

Warm-up⏱ 10 min👥 2-24 players

Setup

Run this immediately after the dynamic warm-up, never before it. Pair players along a line all facing the same way, one ball per pair, starting close together. Add a resistance band if the team has one for the arm-care portion.

Execution

  1. Arm circles forward and back, then across-the-body and overhead shoulder stretches, thirty seconds each.
  2. Ten wrist flicks per player from one knee at fifteen feet, working only the release.
  3. Fifteen throws from a knee at thirty feet, adding torso rotation.
  4. Fifteen standing throws at forty-five feet with a shuffle.
  5. Back up to sixty feet for ten throws, then come back in to short distance for ten easy ones.
