Tee Line Drive Drill
Dugout Master ✓ Official Dugout Master drill
Players use a tee to work on consistent barrel contact and driving balls through the middle of the field.
Hitting⏱ 10 min👥 1-12 players
Setup
Set a tee in front of a net or into an open field, with the ball positioned off the front hip at belt height. Hitters work in pairs — one hitting, one feeding — with a bucket of balls beside the tee. Keep at least fifteen feet between stations.
Execution
- Hitter takes their normal stance and sets the tee so the ball is off the front hip.
- Hitter takes a controlled swing, driving the ball back through the middle.
- Partner tracks the flight: a line drive counts, a pop-up or ground ball does not.
- Hitter takes ten swings, then switches with the partner.
- Run two rounds; on the second round the hitter calls out the result before looking.
