Setup
Set a catcher or a target net at the proper distance for the age group. Use a strike-zone target, or have the catcher set a glove and hold it still. Keep a written tally sheet so command is measured rather than guessed.
Execution
- Catcher sets the target down and away; pitcher throws three pitches to that spot.
- Catcher moves the target down and in; pitcher throws three more.
- Catcher sets it at the top of the zone; pitcher throws three.
- Score one point for hitting the target, half a point for the right half of the plate.
- Repeat the cycle; pitchers compare scores at the end and log a personal best.
