Hitters receive game situations such as runner on third, runner on second, hit-and-run, or moving a runner and attempt the appropriate offensive approach.

Setup
Set up batting practice on the field with a screen on the mound and a defense in position, or run it in a cage with called outcomes. Place cones or actual runners at the relevant bases. Have the situation list written on a card so it stays consistent across hitters.
Execution
- Coach announces the situation and the count before each pitch: runner on second with no outs, runner on third with one out, hit-and-run, and so on.
- Hitter states the goal out loud — "get him to third", "get him in", "hit it behind the runner".
- Coach pitches; the hitter executes the approach rather than swinging freely.
- Team calls the result: executed or not executed.
- Each hitter gets four situations, then rotates; run through the whole lineup.
