Championship Inning
Dugout Master ✓ Official Dugout Master drill
Teams play a high-pressure simulated final inning with a defined score, outs, runners, and objective.
Game-Based⏱ 20 min👥 10-20 players
Setup
Two teams on a full field, everyone in real positions, catcher in gear. Set the stage before the first pitch — announce it like a championship game, with a scoreboard and lineup posted. Best used at the end of practice while energy is high.
Execution
- Coach announces the scenario: bottom of the last inning, down by one, runner on second, one out.
- Both teams get thirty seconds to talk through their plan.
- Play the inning out live with coach-pitch or a live pitcher.
- When the inning ends, reset with a new scenario and switch which team is hitting.
- Play three scenarios and debrief on the decisions, not the outcomes.
